• Firefighters responded to 17 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on North Dudley Street which was triggered by people moving boxes and stirring up dust.
• Firefighters responded to Lilly Lane to a possible gas leak. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Crawley Street to a report of smoke coming from an outlet. All breakers were reset and none re-tripped.
• Firefighters presented a fire safety program at Furlow Charter School, 300 Cherokee St.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at North Lee and Prince streets.
• Firefighters responded to a call on West Jefferson Street but no incident was found.
• Firefighters responded to Horne Street to assist someone who had fallen in the bath.
• Firefighters responded to a call on North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. No incident was found.
• Firefighters responded to Lonnie Lane to a report of a structure fire. They found contents of a commercial dryer on fire, which they extinguished. They moved dryer from the structure and ventilated the structure.
• Firefighters responded to Argo Street to a report of a wild land fire. They found a log on fire beside a driveway, which they extinguished.
• Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Hawkins Street,  which is under investigation by the City Fire Marshal.

• Bernadette R. Battle, 33, of 935 N. Jackson St., Americus is charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
• Robert L. Berry, 58, of 209 Tom Hall Circle, Americus is charged with simple assault, and was jailed.
• Jailonn T. Bridges, 17, of 120 Hosanna Circle, Americus is charged with headlight requirements and driving while unlicensed.
• Tyisha L. Brown, 39, of 723 Beale St., Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.
• Michael D. Cantrell, 35, of Elba, Ala., is charged with failure to maintain lane, DUI and open container.
• Shonrell J. Chambliss, 17, of 4-5 Rogers St., Americus is charged with loitering and prowling, and was jailed.
• Omar K. Clark, 17, of 509 Bessie Mays Circle, Americus is charged with theft by shoplifting.
• Tracy L. Clark, 41, of 615 Lewis Lowe Court, Americus is charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
• Ebony L. Deriso, 23, of 206 Bozeman Circle, Americus is charged with driving the wrong way on a one-way street and driving while license is suspended or revoked.
• Jaime D. Domingo-Hernandez, 27, of 201-B Sun Valley Drive, Americus is charged with failure to yield at stop sign after stopping and driving while unlicensed.
• Mercedes T. Dowsey, 25, of 243 S. Dudley St., Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, and was jailed.
• Nick Ellenburg, 61, or 207 Pineview Drive, Americus is charged with engaging in, promoting, encouraging, aiding and abetting any fight.
• Kelvin T. Hayes of 346 Academy St., Americus is charged with reckless driving, no proof of insurance, failure to stop at stop sign, violation of registration and license requirements, no brakes, no horn, and expired driver’s license.
• Troy L. Herring, 45, of 203 Pineview Drive, Americus is charged with engaging in, promoting, encouraging, aiding and abetting any fight.
• Dontavious Jackson, 19, of 1334 Second Montgomery St., Americus is charged with cruelty to a person age 65 or older, aggravated assault (Domestic Violence Act), simple battery (DVA), and was jailed.
• Markel A. James of 109-D Bush Circle, Americus is charged with DUI.
• Trenton R. Johnson of 111 Linnie St., Americus is charged with following too closely.
• Quincy B. Johnson, 22, of 143 Foster St., DeSoto is charged with failure to obey stop sign, failure to report an accident and driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was jailed.
• Adrian Juarez-Valla, 19, of Austin, Texas, is charged with violating  headlight requirements and driving while unlicensed.
• Five juveniles were charged with theft by shoplifting at Walmart  Supercenter, 1711 E. Lamar St.
• A juvenile was charged with curfew violation and criminal attempt on Judy Lane.
• A juvenile was charged with theft by taking in Crawford Street.
• A juvenile was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana at Methodist Children’s Home, 102 Mill Creek Road.

• Gregory J. Shingles Jr., 19, of 1107-A Oglethorpe Ave., Americus is charged with failure to maintain lane, following too closely and DUI.
• Herman B. Stephens, 50, of 105-B Bessie Mays Circle, Americus was arrested on a probation warrant.
• Javaris S. Thomas, 24, of 302 Bessie Mays Circle, Americus was arrested on a bench warrant for parole violation, and was jailed.
• Eddie J. Tullis, 32, of 108 Richmond Road, Americus is charged with obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was jailed.
• Markel A. Tullis, 30, of 302 Mayo St., Americus is charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes, and was jailed.

• Porcia N. Brantley, 25, of 207 Graham St., Plains is charged with speeding and driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was released on bond.
• Gwendolyn E. Jones, 61, of Leslie is charged with DUI and failure to dim lights, and was released on bond.
• Antonio M. Roblero-Perez, 27, of 273 Rockdale Subdivision Loop, Americus is charged with failure to maintain lane, DUI and driving while unlicensed, and was released on bond.
• Eugene Sheffield, 23, of 417 Jefferson St., Americus is charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property, discharging firearm while under the influence of alcohol or  drugs, and receipt/possession or transfer of firearm by convicted felon or felony first offender, and was jailed.
• Vance C. Styck, 34, of 3512 LaCrosse Road, Ellaville is charged with DUI, and was released on bond.

• Michael K. Bellamy, 41, of 105 Grover Drive, Americus is charged with no of insurance and knowingly driving motor vehicle on suspended, canceled or revoked registration, and was released on bond.
• Eddie D. Covin, 62, of 326 S. Hudson St., Plains is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked and knowingly driving motor vehicle on suspended, canceled or revoked registration, and was released to the Plains Police.

Schley County Sheriff’s Office

Arrest
• Major A. Clark, 29, of 105-B Linnie St., Americus is charged with parole violation, and was jailed.

• Firefighters removed a tree from the roadway on U.S. Highway 280.
• Firefighters responded to traffic accident at U.S. Highway 280 East and Crumpton Drive.
• Firefighters responded a structure fire on Ga. Highway 27 East.
• Firefighters removed a tree from the roadway on Ga. Highway 27 East.
• Firefighters installed smoke alarms on Bumphead Road.
• Firefighters responded to New Era and Tom Summers roads to a report of power lines down and found that a tractor had pulled down power lines and broken off a power pole.
